En la villa de Villaviciosa a veinte y nueve días del mes de setiembre de mil y seiscientos y catorce años Pedro de Peón y Valdés Juez ordinario de esta villa para tomar la Calle Hita de fidalgos y labradores de la feligresía de San Martín de Vallés hizo parecer ante sí a Pedro del Canto el viejo y a Gonzalo de San Martin hijosdalgo vecinos de la dicha feligresía de los cuales recibió juramento en forma de derecho sobre una señal de cruz debajo del cual les mandó que bien y fielmente den la dicha lista y padrón de Calle Hita conforme manda Su Majestad los cuales debajo de dicho juramento dieron la dicha Calle Hita en la forma siguiente:

In the village of Villaviciosa twenty nine days of September of one thousand six hundred and fourteen years Pedro de Peón y Valdes ordinary judge of this villa to take Hita Street of hidalgos and farmers of the parish of San Martín de Vallés ordered to appear before me to Peter del Canto «the old» and Gonzalo de San Martin hijosdalgo neighbours of the abovementioned parish of whom he received oath according to the law over the sign of the cross below which he commanded them to give, well and faithfully, the list and the Hita Street Census as His Majesty commands who gave the mentioned Hita Street under the oath in the following manner:

Whereupon they gave for made that Hita Street Census in the way it´s said and they didn´t sign for not knowing. Was signed by the mentioned Judge and it was signed too by Pedro de Peon depositary Mayor who was present too to that Hita Street.

HijoDalgo, HijoDealgo or Hidalgo in Spain literally means «Son of Something» and denotes Noble by Blood. As society evolved from feudalism the eldest son typically inherited «Titled Nobility»; all other sons (and daughters) were still considered to be of noble blood and had certain legal entitlements such as exemption from taxes, right of petition to the monarch, marriage, etc. In many villages there were gentlemen farmers, cobblers, traders and even «extremely poor people» who were «Hijosdalgo». And they lived next to others who were wealthy and who own properties but, however, they were not «Hijosdalgo» and had to pay taxes «and all its finances are not sufficient to achieve the nobility». These rights passed to descendants.
